Good afternoon all. The Gladdy Murray Golf Trophy and Fallen Comrades Golf Trophy will be played together this year at Niddrie Castle Golf Club on Sunday 24th September. We have secured 30 spaces with the first tee off time being 10.50am. Roll with tea/coffee. Lunch. The cost is £45. However, those who attended the Grangemouth Golf Club last year, will only have to pay for their golf at £29. Names please to myself or Davy Milne by close of play 17th September. Thank you

Mre Faye Cooper
It is with great sadness that we report the death on 4 Jul 2023 of Mrs Faye Cooper, widow of Mr Gary Cooper. Our thoughts are with her family and friends. The funeral will be held at 1245 on Wed 19 Jul 2023 at Kirkcaldy Crematorium, Rosemount Avenue, Kirkcaldy, Fife, KY2 6HQ
Sorry too hear about Faye Cooper
I first got to know her while serving with Gary in MT Section based at Osnabruck.
I then last met her a number of years ago with Gary at an event with General Mark Strudwick
it was held I believe in Musselburgh.
It was nice too catch up with Gary and Faye and she reminded me about the time while training in
Libya when Gary kidded me that he had sold me too an Arab shopkeeper while we were going to
Raz-El-Tin Beach.
A great laugh that night in their company, condolences too family and friends.
From Alex Moore and members of the Southern Branch.
Two great events in short order. First for AF Day and then RS 350 Remembered! Well done all!
MARKING RS 350TH
66 members of our close Regimental family gathered 40 years on, to the day, from the 1983 350th Royal Review in Holyrood Park at the Club on Friday 30th June.
Some had travelled from as far afield as the south coast of England and Inverness. All enjoyed the opportunity to meet up and go down memory lane.
The new RS350 Film is now on You Tube: RS 350th in 1983, and the link is https://youtu.be/aUfJlte4gSc
The Rock what a man to have on your side,
Rest In Peace Sir
A true gent who understood the ethos of integrity and brotherhood of what it was to be a true Royal Scot.
Absolutely fantastic to see a great turnout for Armed Forces Day in Edinburgh yesterday, a super opportunity to catch up. Thanks to all who were able to be there.
Yours Aye
George
So very sad to read the passing of my old friend Steph Mathie.
Steph and I met for the very first time in the boxing ring in Werl, West Germany at the inter company boxing finals back in November 1985, Light-Welterweight, I was just a Sprog in “A” Coy & Steph was a LCPL in “FS” Coy, this event is almost 38 years ago, gone in the blink of an eye.
I actually dug out some photo’s taken of our Bout to reminisce our time, we became friends after the bout and have stayed in contact on and off throughout the years.
My thoughts and prayers are with all Steph’s family and friends at this very sad time.
Rest In Peace Mucker
Another good man who has passed. A pure gent who will be missed. RIP old friend

It is with great sadness that we report the death on 21 Jun 2023 of Mr Steph Mathie. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. Further details will be posted when known.
I’ll always remember Steph in his west coast accent saying (Dae You Wattie No Suttum), makes me chuckle
Rest In Peace Steph
RIP Paddy. I recall Paddy joining 1RS at Osnabruck. A real gentleman.
