2025 is the 80th anniversary of VJ Day, which marked the end of hostilities in the Far East in Word War II.
The Royal Scots Regimental Trust will mark this occasion with a memorial service on Saturday 16 August 2025 at The Royal Scots Memorial Garden at Lauriston Castle, 2 Cramond Road South, Edinburgh EH4 6AD.
Those wishing to attend should assemble directly in front of Lauriston Castle at 1030. The parade will form up at 1040 and march behind The Royal Scots Association Pipe Band and The Royal Scots Association Standards the short distance to The Royal Scots Memorial Garden. The service will commence at 1050 and will last for approximately 20 minutes.
Due to other events at Lauriston Castle on that day parking will be extremely limited, so those attending are advised to use public transport or park in the surrounding area and allow plenty of time.
